Adjustment
The crutch should be adjusted individually to the user so that the
shoulder joints are not excessively raised. Adjust the height of the
handgrip so that your elbow is slightly bent at the angle of
approximately 30°.
•
To adjust the crutch, press the metal pin and select appropriate
position of the inner tube. Lock the position of the tubes relative
to each other with the use of metal pin. The crutch is adjustable in
2.5 cm increments.
•
To adjust the height of handgrip, unscrew the knob, take out the
screws and set the handgrip on the appropriate level
.
Put the
screws in and tighten the knob.
•
When using two crutches, handgrips and locking pins
must be set
at the same level. Leg of the crutch should always stand stably on
the ground.
•
Before use, ensure that the crutch is stable and the locking pin
fully protrudes through adjustment hole of the crutch.
•
It is recommended to use two crutches simultaneously.
•
Long-term use of underarm crutches may cause injury of axillary
nerves due to the pressure put on the armpit where major blood
vessels and upper limbs nerves run (possible occurrence of:
sensory and motor disorders, muscle weakening, numbness, and
in turn muscle palsy).
NOTE!
In case of doubts concerning the technique of moving with the
use of crutches, consult a person who has appropriate knowledge or
qualifications.
