Drive Control Cable Adjustment
Over time the drive control cable may need to be
adjusted to increase the tension on the drive belt. The
following steps describe how to adjust the tension.
1.
CAUTION
Improper adjustment of the drive control cable
will prevent the belt tensioner from disengaging,
resulting in tractor movement on startup. Bodily
injury or damage to equipment may occur.
CAUTION
Ensure that the Power Ox is not running before
adjusting the drive control linkage. Bodily injury or
damage to equipment may occur.
Shut down the Power Ox in accordance with the
stopping the engine procedure in this manual.
2. Remove the axle drive belt cover by removing
the two 5/16” mounting bolts (A).

Loosen the 5/16” locking flange nut (B).

4. Adjust the spring adjustment plate (C) to increase
or decrease the cable tension.
5.
Tighten the 5/16” locking flange nut (B) when the
cable is at the desired tension.
6. Install the drive belt cover before operating the
Power Ox.
7. Before starting the Power Ox ensure that the
tensioner disengages the drive belt when the
drive control handles are released.
