The TCP port to which connections are executed, can be configured by using the command:
set backup check-port N
The number of attempts, latency for the reply, the interval between a group of attempts and the
following one, can be configured by using the commands:
set backup check-retries N
set backup check-wait T1
set backup check-interval T2
The TCP connection is still required on the specified interface and the primary connection is
declared available as soon as this successfully occurs. Each successful connection is automatically
ended by Imola.
An alternative of the command
set backup checking-ipaddress a.b.c.d via ...
is:
set backup checking-ipaddr-if-rx-idle a.b.c.d via .. rx-threshold N
With this command the control of the specified host is made only if no byte has been received on
the specified interface in a particular time interval, or if the number of received characters is lower
than the configured threshold.
For example the command:
set backup checking-ipaddr-if-rx-idle 1.1.1.1 via icmp through-interface atm0 rx-threshold 500
activates the transmission of ping packets if less than 500 characters have been received during the
specified time interval.
5. Verification of the operational status (IfOperStatus) of a specified network interface. The
command is:
set backup checking-interface <ifname>
The primary connection is declared unavailable if the operational status of the interface is down.
The frequency of verification of the interface status is specified by using the command:
set backup check-interval T
6. Verification of the presence of routing tables acquired dynamically through a routing protocol.
The command is:
set backup checking-dynamic-routes via ospf|bgp|rip through-interface <ifname>
It is possible to limit the control on the transmission of a single network through the watched
option:
set backup checking-dynamic-routes via ospf|bgp|rip through-interface <ifname> watched <network>/N
The frequency of verification of the availability of dynamic routes is configured with the command:
set backup check-interval T
SET TRIGGER BACKUP COMMAND
As soon as the configured policy is no longer satisfied are performed all the actions specified by the
command:
