Usually, several units are so installed to a line array, that they are arranged arcuate. The figure

alongside shows an example of how four elements can be combined into a system that stands

on the ground (ground stack). In the figure, the centre of gravity is marked by ‘C’.

In a ground stack, no more than four elements with maximum angulation may be

used.

In flying operation, the shackle must be mounted just above the centre of gravity of the entire

system.
