Suitable extraction must also be used for the EC100 if used instead
of a flame, and in particular for the Mercury-Cell (toxic fumes) used
with no flame or EC100. For details, refer to the
iCE 3000 Series
Operating Manual
.
Local regulations may require to perform a risk analysis.
NOTICE
The minimum flow rate is a requirement for safe operation of the
flame. There is no value added to the safety of operation or the quality
of the analysis when increasing the flow to values beyond the specified
minimum.
The upper limit of the flow rate may be determined by the point at
which the signal is negatively impacted. In particular, an unnecessarily
high flow rate may cause the flame to flicker and/or to decrease the
stability of the analytical data which will be reflected in higher relative
standard deviations.
WARNING
Hot Surface.
Risk of burning. Do not touch the hood or the tubing
over the flame of the spectrometer while the flame is on or directly
after extinction of the flame.
CAUTION
Hazardous Gases.
Risk to health. The instrument must not be
installed in a normal chemical fume cupboard as the ventilation is
likely to be inadequate, and any other chemical operation may damage
the spectrometer.
