Operation of the Haematocrit-rotor
Loading the Haematocrit-rotor
After filling the capillary tubes with a blood column of
approximately 65 mm and closing them, insert the
tubes in the rotor slots. The closed side has to face
the rotor rim.
To avoid imbalance, irregular run-
ning and possible damages, the
rotor always needs to be loaded
symmetrically!
If the rotor is to be loaded only par-
tially, opposing slots always need
to be occupied by a capillary tube.
To close the rotor, place the rotor lid centrically on the
rotor nut. By clockwise turning of the lid-handle the
rotor lid is fixed.
Installing and operating the Haematocrit-
otor
After checking the correct loading of the Haematocrit-
rotor, it can be installed in the centrifuge.
1. Open the centrifuge lid and make sure that the
rotor chamber and the rotor are clean. Remove
eventual dust, debris or sample residues. The
thread and the O-Ring on the motor shaft must be
in perfect condition.
2. Turn the rotor so that the notch for engaging the
drive shaft points downward.
3. Place the rotor on top of the drive shaft so that the
notch of the rotor is located precisely above the re-
taining pin. (There a two bars in the labelling on the
upper side of the rotor indicating the position of the
notch). These bars make the positioning easy.
4. Press the rotor gently down until it stops.
5. Grip the rotor tightly and use the provided rotor
wrench to tighten up the rotor.
