Mounting
Base station positioning
y
With the foldable leg at the back (Fig.1-S) , the base station can be placed onto any fl at surface.
y
The base station can be wall mounted at a chosen location by the mounting holes found at the back of the
unit (Fig.1-P). Make sure to avoid the vicinity of any source of interference such as computer screens, TV sets
or solid metal objects. Within solid walls, especially ones with metal parts, the transmission range can be
reduced considerably.
y
Do not use the product in the vicinity of radiators, other sources of heat or in direct sunlight.
Installation of the transmitters
y
Before the fi nal installation, make sure that the measured values are transmitted from the transmitter at the
desired installation site to the base station in the living area.
y
Also make sure that the transmitters are easily accessible for cleaning and maintenance. The outdoor trans-
mitters should be cleaned from time to time, since dirt and debris will affect the sensor’s accuracy.
Temperature-humidity sensor (Fig.2)
y
When placed outdoors, choose a shady and dry place for the temperature-humidity sensor. Direct sunlight
may trigger incorrect measurement and continuous humidity damages the electronic components needlessly.
Rain sensor (Fig.3)
y
Place the rain sensor horizontally in an area where rain can fall directly into the container, ideally 60 to 90 cm
above the ground on a small platform.
y
You can tighten the rain sensor in the desired position with four screws (Fig.3-F).
Wind sensor (Fig.4)
y
Make sure that the wind can blow freely around the wind sensor and is not blocked by nearby buildings,
trees or any other objects.
y
For best results, we recommend mounting the wind sensor on a mast, ideally 3 metres above
any obstructions.
y
Try to install the wind sensor so that it will be exposed to the normal wind conditions in your area.
y
Attach the delivered adjustable base (Fig.4-H) to a mast (ø 25-28mm). Matching metal brackets and nuts
are included in the scope of delivery.
y
The adjustable base can also be attached to a surface. First screw the base in the desired position with the
four screws (Fig.4-K). The adjustable base may be rotated by 90°/180°. Open the fi xing screw (Fig.4-J) and
loosen the adjustable base (Fig.4-H). Turn it in the desired
position and tighten the fi xing screw again.
y
Make sure that the the adjustable base is securely fastened.
y
Then place the wind sensor on the adjustable base (Fig.4-E)
and fi x it with the screws (Fig.4-F).
y
The wind wheel points upwards and the wind vane downwards.
y
Ensure the wind sensor is mounted level with the solar panel
(Fig.4-B) facing directly to the South. This will help optimize
battery life and transmit correct wind direction.
Use a compass if necessary.
Additional outdoor transmitters (optional) Cat.-No. 30.3249.02
y
When having more than one temperature-humidity sensor, select a different channel for each one with the
CH 1/2/3 switch (Fig.2-G) inside the transmitter’s battery compartment. Insert two new AA 1.5 V batteries,
polarity as illustrated. Start the base station operation or the manual search for the outdoor transmitters.
y
The outdoor values and the channel number will be shown on the base station display (Fig.1-C2). If you
have installed more than one temperature-humidity sensor, press the CHANNEL button (Fig.1-N) on the base
station to change between the channels 1 to 3.
y
You can also choose an alternating channel display. Press CHANNEL button. After the last registered channel
(1 to 3) a circle symbol (Fig.1-C1) will appear. To deactivate the function press the CHANNEL button again.
y
After a successful installation close the outdoor transmitter’s battery compartments carefully.
Care and maintenance
y
Clean the devices with a soft damp cloth. Do not use solvents or scouring agents.
y
Make sure that the wind cups and the vane can spin freely and are free from dirt, debris or spider webs.
y
Check and clean the rain gauge periodically for optimum performance of the rainfall measurement. The funnel
should be routinely cleaned and freed from leaves and dirt.
y
Remove the batteries if you do not use the devices for a long period of time.
Battery replacement
y
As soon as the corresponding battery symbols appears in the display, please change the batteries of the
base station (Fig.1-B4) or transmitters (Fig.1-C6, Fig.2-E, Fig.1-D2, Fig.1-E3).
y
Please note:
When the batteries are changed, the contact between the outdoor transmitters and the base
station must be restored – so always restart all devices or start a manual transmitter search (see “Outdoor
values reception”).
Troubleshooting
Problem
Solution
No indication on the
base station
Ensure the batteries’ polarities are correct
Change the batteries
No reception of the
outdoor transmitter
Display “- -”
No outdoor transmitter is installed
Check the outdoor transmitter’s batteries (do not use re-chargeable batteries!)
Restart the outdoor transmitter and the base station according to the manual
Start the outdoor transmitter manual search according to the manual
Choose another place for the transmitter and/or the base station
Reduce the distance between the transmitter and the base station
Check if there is any source of interference
Incorrect indication
Change the batteries
Factory reset:
To reset to factory setting, hold the RAIN (Fig.1-G) and ALERTS (Fig.1-O)
button on the base station for fi ve seconds at the same time.
If your device fails to work despite these measures, contact the retailer where you purchased the product.
