WARRANTY
Eligibility:
Affected airplanes that were still within the Cessna five (5) year airframe warranty period
on the original issue of this service letter.
Parts:
Authorized Citation Service Facilities, individual operators, or other maintenance facilities
may submit a Credit Claim Form for the parts kit(s) required for accomplishment of this
service letter, provided the work is completed and the claim submitted by the expiration
date shown below.
Labor:
Authorized Citation Service Facilities may submit a Credit Claim Form for accomplishment
of this service letter, on eligible airplanes, provided the work is completed and the claim
submitted by the expiration date shown below.

ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
1.
Lower flaps to full position.
2.
Prepare the airplane for maintenance.
A.
Make sure that all switches are in the OFF/NORM position.
B.
Disconnect electrical power from the airplane.
(1)
Disconnect the airplane battery. (Refer to the Maintenance Manual, Chapter 24, Battery
- Removal/Installation.)
(2)
Disconnect external electrical power.
C.
Attach maintenance warning tags to the battery and external power receptacle that have
"DO NOT
CONNECT ELECTRICAL POWER - MAINTENANCE IN PROGRESS"
written on them.
3.
(Refer to Figure 1.) Use a boroscope to examine the two rivets that fasten the lower guard to the lower
support of each aileron actuator assembly.
A.
Make sure the lower guard attach rivets are installed to specification.
(1)
Go to Step 8 if the rivet butts on the upper surface of the lower guard are:
(a)
Double flush/double countersunk into the guard.
(b)
Installed so there is clearance between the rivet butts and the cables when the aileron
is operated.
(2)
Go to Step 4 if the rivet butts on the upper surface of the lower guard:
(a)
Are not installed double flush/double countersunk.
(b)
Touch the cable when the aileron is operated.
