(under the “Advanced Options” tab)
The 10-pin port on the side of TextAlert allows one to activate external devices such as sirens,
lights, existing alarms, etc. The dropdown menus for the two outputs are identical to one
another. As you select each option, different options will appear that explain that particular
setting.
••••
“
Output is ON when selected zone(s) are ARMED
”.
You would typically use this setting to detect when the system is in an armed
state. An LED would be on when the system is armed, and off when the system is
disarmed.
Select the zones that apply and decide if you want the condition to exist if “All” or
“Any” selected zone is in the armed condition.
••••
“Flash during Pause and Arm Delay” .
TextAlert will flash during Pause or Arm Delay… The reason it does this is to
indicate that the condition is currently “Off” but will soon be “On”
••••
“
Output is Switched ON for a period when zone(s) are triggered”.
You can now define in Seconds or Minutes how long you want to switch/close the
switch for when the zone is triggered. Let’s say you want a siren to sound a siren
for a selected few zones… You would connect a siren into either Zone 1 or 2 and
then check off those zones on the software. You then decide the duration for the
siren to sound for – say – 3 minutes before switching off when one of the zones is
violated.
••••
“Output is switched ON for a period when remote is triggered”.
You can have assigned the Red button on your Remote 1 to send a Panic call to
armed response and SMS panic messages to friends or neighbors and to have a
siren or strobe light come on for a period of time when the panic button is pushed.
