If you feel sick, tired or have consumed alcohol or drugs, do not operate the
machine.
The person who operates the machine is responsible for people’s safety within
the work area. Never use the machine near children or animals.
Always pay attention when the machine is running in reverse. Make sure to
minimize the risk of tripping or falling.
Thoroughly inspect the area, where the equipment is to be used. Remove all
doormats, sleds, boards, wires and other foreign objects.
Disengage clutch and shift into neutral before starting engine.
Always wear eye and ear protection, gloves and slip-resistant shoes, when using
the machine. Avoid loose fitting clothes.
Check the fuel before starting the engine. Gasoline is an extremely flammable.
Do not fill the gasoline tank indoors, while the engine is running, or while the
engine is still hot. Replace gasoline cap securely and wipe off any spilled
gasoline before starting the engine. It may cause a fire or explosion!
Use an earth grounded socket for units with electric drive motors or electric
starting motors.
Adjust auger-housing height to clear gravel or crushed rock surface.
Never attempt to make any adjustments while the engine is running, unless it is
specifically recommended by manufacturer
Let engine and machine adjust to outdoor temperature before starting to clear
snow.
Always wear safety glasses or eye shields during operation or while performing
an adjustment or repair, this is to protect eyes from foreign objects that may be
thrown from the machine in any direction.
Operation
Do not put hands or feet near rotating parts. Keep clear of discharge opening at
all times.
Exercise extreme caution when operating on crossing gravel drives, walks, or
roads. Stay alert for hidden hazards or traffic. Do not carry passengers.
After striking a foreign object, stop the engine immediately, remove the spark
plug cap and inspect the machine thoroughly for damage. Repair the damage
before continuing
If the snow thrower should start to vibrate abnormally, stop the engine and check
immediately for the cause. Vibration is generally a warning of damage.
Always turn off the machine, when not operated or before unclogging the
auger/impeller housing or discharge guide, and making any repairs, adjustments,
or inspections.
Take all possible precautions when leaving the unit un-attended. Disengage the
auger/impeller, shift into neutral, stop the engine, and remove the key.
When cleaning, repairing, or inspecting, make certain auger/impeller and all
moving parts have stopped. Disconnect spark plug wire and keep away from plug
to prevent accidental starting the engine.
You should not generally start the engine indoors. However, it is safe to start the
engine indoors, if it is to transport the machine in and out of a building. In such
case, make sure the room is properly vented. It is extremely harmful to inhale the
exhaust from the engine.
