5. Testing a CLASS-2 Appliance
Plug the appliance into the panel main socket. Switch on the appliance . If there is
exposed metal on the appliance eg. chuck of a drill then plug the earth test lead into the
socket (F) on the rear end panel. Connect the earth crocodile clip or probe to any
exposed part on the appliance

Press Class II button the tester will carry out the test, if the result is a pass (>2Mohm)
If the measured value is a low overload capacity and display flashes“ ”This is an indication that the
appliance is not connected properly or it is not switched. Switch on, press ClassII button to repeat the test.
If the test is a Fail this will mean that the result is <2Mohm which means the insulation has broken down,
however if the appliance under test has an heating element it could mean there is moisture on the element or
