USING THE FRYER
FILLING THE OIL TANK
Position the element on the fryer.
•
Place the oil tank in the fryer.
•
Pour clean oil carefully into the tank. On the inside of the oil tank at one side, there are two
•
marks MIN and MAX. Pour in sufficient oil to reach the MAX mark.
Do not overfill.
•
The capacity of the tank is 3 litres. 2.5 litres is needed to reach the MIN mark.
•
There should always be sufficient oil in the tank to cover the MIN mark.
Corn oil, sunflower oil, ground nut oil and vegetable oil are all suitable for use with the fryer.
If you wish you may use solid vegetable fat but this is much more difficult to handle. Solid fat should
be melted in a separate pan before transferring it to the tank.
Do not use margarine, butter or olive oil. NEVER mix different oils and fats.
WARNING: it is extremely dangerous to operate the fryer with low or no oil in the tank.
INSERTING THE FRYING BASKET
Hold the basket by the handle. Hook the basket over
the edge of the fryer as shown to lift the basket clear
of the oil.
This is the raised position and is used to fill and remove
food from the basket, inspect food during cooking and
to drain excess oil from the food after frying.
COOKING WITH THE FRYER
SETTING THE CORRECT OIL TEMPERATURE FOR THE FOOD
Rotate the dial on the control panel to set the
temperature according to your recipe. The frying
guide on Page 8 will assist you.
CONNECTING THE POWER
Plug the fryer into the mains point and switch on the power.
The red Power indicator and green Heating indicator will both come on while the fryer is heating up.
After about 10 minutes, the oil will reach the correct temperature and the green Heating indicator
will switch off. The appliance is now ready for use.
STANDARD COOKING
Fill the basket with food.
•
Always have the basket in the raised
•
position when filling it with food.
Place the food to be cooked (which should
•
be as dry as possible) in the basket.
Do not overfill the basket.
•
Lower the filled basket into the oil Take
•
care not to splash any oil.
Cook the food for the required time depending on the recipe. The Frying guide on Page 8 will
•
help you.
During cooking, the “Heating” indicator may go on and off - this is normal.
