Procedure for emptying the installation
Heating system installation:
The heating system should not be emptied frequently since water refilling increases the
amount of scale build-up inside the boiler and the radiators. If the heating system is not
used in the winter, it may be necessary to add some anti-freeze agent to the water inside
the appliance.
To empty the system, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the boiler;
2. Manually activate the safety valve, collecting the water that pours out in a container
if the valve is not fitted with a discharge pipe union.
3. Empty the system from the lowest points (if present).
Sanitary system:
1. Close the mains water cock;
2. Open all the hot and cold water taps.
3. Empty the system from the lowest points (if present).
Before opening the boiler, empty all the components that may contain hot
water using the appropriate vent holes.
In order to remove scale deposits as indicated in the safety instructions of
the product used, ventilate the room and wear proper protective clothing.
Also, avoid mixing several products and protect the surrounding
equipment and objects.
Tighten all the vent openings before carrying out gas pressure readings or
regulation.
Make sure that the nozzles and the burners are suitable for the type of gas
supplied.
Warning
If you smell burning or see smoke coming out of the appliance, or if you
smell gas cut off power supply, close the gas inlet cock, open the windows
and call the servicing technician immediately.
