B-3.2 Getting ready to work
Before any operation, following precautions should be
taken:
•
First of all, make sure that the maintenance
interventions have been carried out with care
according to the established schedule (see section
D - Maintenance
).
•
Ensure you have enough fuel to avoid a sudden stop
of the engine, especially during a crucial manoeuvre.
•
Check the correct functioning of all the safety
devices, installed on the machine and in the working
area.
•
Absolutely avoid to fit or transport partitions to/on
the platform. They may increase the wind effect and
jeopardise the machine stability.
•
In case of troubles or difficulties, inform the foreman
at once. Never start working under unsafe
conditions.
•
Do not carry out repair works in a makeshift way
just to start working!
B-3.3 During work or maintenance
DANGER
Any intervention on the hydraulic circuit must be
carried out by authorised personnel.
The hydraulic system of this machine is fitted with
pressure accumulators which may seriously jeop-
ardise the safety conditions, if not completely de-
pressurised before starting any operation.
To depressurise the accumulators, stop the engine
and step on the brake pedal 8
÷
10 times.
•
Dot not smoke or use open flames in areas subject
to fire dangers and in presence of fuel, oil or
batteries.
•
Do not leave fuel cans or bottles in unsuitable
places.
•
Carefully handle all flammable or dangerous
substances.
•
Do not tamper fire-extinguishers or pressure
accumulators:
they could explode!
•
After any maintenance or repair work, check that no
tools, clothes or other objects have been left within
machine compartments, fitted with moving parts, or
where suction and cooling air circulates.
•
When working, do not give instructions or signals to
several people at the same time. Instructions and
signals must be given by one person only.
•
Always consider the instructions given by the
foremen with the due respect.
•
Never distract the operator during work or crucial
manoeuvres.
•
Avoid to call an operator suddenly, if unnecessary.
•
Avoid to frighten an operator or to throw objects by
no means.
•
After work, never leave the machine under potentially
dangerous conditions.
•
The ground operator must never leave the handler
unattended.
DANGER
When using a robot 15000, keep the pendant control
panel into the driving cab. This panel must ONLY be
used to lower the platform to the ground in an emer-
gency or to change the work configuration – eg. aerial
or under-bridge jobs with no operator aboard.
