2450 CARRIAGE FOGGER (1/2012)
Terex Bid-Well LOW PRESSURE CARRIAGE FOGGER SYSTEM
PURPOSE OF CARRIAGE FOGGING SYSTEM
The Terex Bid-Well low pressure carriage fogging system provides a means to add humidity and lower
temperatures to the surface of concrete and/or the surrounding area. The fog helps to eliminate
shrinkage cracks due to abnormal surface drying or dehydration. (Works exceptionally well with flyash,
silica fume additives and overlays).
OPERATION OF CARRIAGE FOGGER
To operate the carriage fogger, start the engine and at full throttle or 3600 RPM’s, rotate the flow con-
trol valve marked “Fogger” clockwise to open the flow of oil to the fogger pump. The fogging system
is set up to run between 40 and 60 PSI. There is a pressure setting valve located next to the fogger
pump.
All the nozzles, except for the two for the burlap drag, are rated for one (1) gallon per hour; the two
nozzles for the burlap drag are rated for four (4) gallons per hour. The nozzles located above the
paving rollers can be adjusted vertically and can be turned to spray directly onto the paving rollers or
directly onto the paving surface. The amount of fog can be controlled by decreasing pressure or by
turning the fogger flow control valve down to slow the pump. A shut off valve, located at the end of
each pipe, allows you to shut off the nozzles on one or both sides of the carriage and still operate the
nozzles located at the drag pan(s) and burlap drag.
The nozzles located at the drag pan(s) can be adjusted vertically and angled to obtain the desired fog
pattern. Each nozzle has an individual shut off. It may be advantageous to shut one of the nozzles off,
depending on wind velocity and direction, to avoid filling the drag pan(s) with water.
The two nozzles positioned at the burlap drag work best when angled inward, spraying directly on the
inside of the burlap. This will keep the burlap wet throughout the pour.
The length of the pour, the nozzle size, wind, temperature and humidity are all factors that may require
operator adjustment before and during every pour.
