4.4.1 Diagnostics 

The device is capable of testing the connection to your DSL service provider, the connection to your Internet service 

provider and the connection to your local network. If a test displays a fail status, click 

“

Rerun Diagnostic Tests

”

 at the 

bottom of this page to make sure the fail status is consistent. If the test continues to fail, click 

“

Help

”

 and follow the 

troubleshooting procedures.   

 

Pass: 

Indicates that the Ethernet interface from your computer is connected to the LAN port of the device. 

Fail: 

Indicates that the device does not detect the Ethernet interface on your computer. 

4.4.2 Ping test 

Ping utility can help test whether the device has built a proper connection with your host.   

Type in the IP address of your host in the Ping IP Address field, and click 

Ping

. If you get a similar screen shown as 

below, it indicates the connection between the Ping object (Here is 192.168.1.2) and the device has been established.
