Command Description
This command is used to create or join an infrastructure network (limited access point
mode), and to create or join to an ad-hoc network.
Command Syntax
AT+WA=<SSID>[,[<BSSID>][,<Channel>],[RSSI Flag],[WPS
Registrar],[Unscheduled automatic power save delivery
configuration]]
Note/Tip:
•
The WPS registrar is supported only with WPA/WPA2 security. It is
not supported in open security.
•
When WPA registrar is required, setting strict security using
AT+WSEC (See Scanning, page 61) command is mandatory before
issuing the AT+WA command.
Command Usage
The following is the behavior of the command in different modes:
1.
In STA mode, i.e., AT+WM=0 (see Operation Mode, page 46). The node will attempt
to associate with the requested network. If the requested network is not available,
an error message will display.
2.
In ad-hoc mode, i.e., AT+WM=1 (see Operation Mode, page 46). The node will
attempt to associate with the requested network. If the network with the desired
SSID or channel or both is not found, then a new ad-hoc network is created.
However, if BSSID is specified in the request, and the applicable BSSID is not
found, the node will report an error and will not create a network.
3.
In AP mode, i.e., AT+WM=2 (see Operation Mode, page 46), The node creates an
infrastructure (Limited AP) network with the specified SSID. Issue AT+WSEC=n
(refer Scanning, page 61 for values) to create Limited AP with security as specified
in Table 44, page 55.
