Chapter 7: Firmware Documentation
The current firmware is 1.2.0 - 1.1.1 – 1.5.6. This is Ethernet PCB firmware version 1.2.0 and
PRISM firmware 1.1.1 (primary) and 1.5.6 (secondary). To upgrade firmware, ensure that the
CPE and attached computer are on the same subnet, then run the supplied batch (BAT) file.
1.1.1-1.1.1-1.5.6 Release Notes:
Default settings:
IP: 192.168.1.99

No wep, no user name, no password
Changed/Fixed:
- Changed the web pages layout to not use frames. This fixes a problem on
Netscape, Mozilla, IExplorer (MAC version) where when the browser window was
not high enough, the added vertical scrollbar shifted the frame content to the
left and made the frames misaligned.
- Changed the JavaScript code for the "click to associate" feature. This was
broken on Netscape 4.x and IExplorer 5.0x.
- Intersil firmware upgrade is now 111/156 instead of 149 for card
compatibility issues.
Known problems:
- Scan result in status page: if an AP doesn't broadcast its SSID and
denies the bridge's probe request, the AP doesn't show up in the scan
list. No work possible around (that's just the way it is).
- Scan results may vary when reloading the status page. No known work
around yet.
- If just after powering up the device the web page is loaded the scan result is
empty. This is due to Intersil firmware which needs around 10s to perform its
first scan.
- Netscape 4.x does not render correctly the Cascading Style Sheets. A fix would
imply to rewrite the HTML with less CSS.
- Internet Explorer 5.0x does not honor the HTML meta-tags for cache management.
A work around consists of changing IExplorer cache settings (menu Tools ->
Internet Options -> General tab, Temporary Internet Files -> Settings ->
select Every visit to the page).
A fix could require modifying the embedded web server to add HTTP header to
control the cache (not verified yet).
