Troubleshooting
5.1
Recommended Procedure
Perform the following steps if the connection between the Qtanium 400 and
OnlineAVL2/DIRECTOR is not working:
1.
Use OnlineAVL2/DIRECTOR to confirm which device you are troubleshooting.
Verify/match the modem (AVL2ID) number from the back of the Qtanium 400 with
OnlineAVL2/DIRECTOR.
2.
The Qtanium 400 may have a missing wire connection/blown fuse/poor Ground. Use
a multi-meter to verify Power, Ground and the Run Signal at the pins of the
Qtanium’s power cable. Reconnect the power cable, start the engine, ping (Query)
the device from OnlineAVL2/DIRECTOR, and check OnlineAVL2/DIRECTOR for vehicle
activity.
3.
The Qtanium 400 may need to be reset. Perform a Cold Reset using the shipping
plug (see the following section), start the engine, ping (Query), and wait up to 10
minutes then check for any activity in OnlineAVL2/DIRECTOR.
4.
The Qtanium 400 may be outside an area with cellular data coverage. Check cellular
data coverage with the provider.
5.
The SIM card may need to be activated. Call Teletrac Navman customer support to
check the SIM card status.
6.
The Qtanium 400 antenna or cable may be damaged. Replace the antenna, perform
a Cold Reset using the shipping plug (see the following section), start the engine,
ping (Query), and check for activity in OnlineAVL2/DIRECTOR.
7.
The Qtanium may have stopped working. Plug a spare Qtanium 400 into the existing
setup and start the engine. Check OnlineAVL2/DIRECTOR for any activity from the
new device.
8.
Contact Teletrac Navman for further assistance..
