Using Download Managers
Based on the deployment setup parameters such as ping interval, number of bins, etc., and the duration of
the deployment, the size of the data file to be downloaded from the Sentinel V ADCP can be in the order of
gigabytes. While downloading a large data file from the Sentinel V, the user may close the browser by mis-
take or the ADCP may disconnect. In order to recover the data file download from such situations, TRDI
recommends using a FireFox® download manager add-on called FlashGot®. This add-on will help re-
sume downloads from the last point where the partial download left off. Using FlashGot, users may also
configure the maximum download speed using any internal and most external download managers.
Although ReadyV file downloads will work on most external download managers and most
for supported platforms), TRDI recommends using
the latest version of Firefox® (
http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/
) and the
FlashGot®
plugin (

Once FlashGot® is installed; when a data file is downloaded the following popup is observed:
Select the FlashGot option and click OK to download the file.
It may be noted that even though there are
FlashGot
extensions and plugins for other
browsers such as Google Chrome® etc., TRDI has not tested the efficacy of the
FlashGot
plugin in other browser environments.
