4. Problem Solver
PROBLEM PROBABLE CAUSE REMEDY
The LED’s on the front panel don’t
light up. The receiver is not plugged into
the mains. Make sure the mains lead is
properly plugged in.
The antenna cable is not
connected to the receiver. Make sure the parabolic antenna
cable is properly connected to the
receiver.
The antenna plant is damaged.
Check the plant is in working order
(parabola orientation, condition of
antenna cable, commuter and LNB
efficiency).
It would be best to have the plant
check by a antenna specialist.
No signal (orange LED off).
The plant is not compatible. Check the type of satellite plant
(single or dual feed, switch, IF IF). If
in doubt contact the installer.
The receiver is in standby. Turn on the receiver.
The TV scart cable is not
connected properly or the TV is not
on AV. Make sure the TV scart is properly
connected or tune in the TV to the
correct AV channel.
The television is turned off or
tuned into the wrong channel. Turn on the TV and/or select the
right channel (e.g. A/V)
No sound or image.
The channel you are trying to see
is out of date or coded Change channel
Flat batteries or no batteries Insert new batteries The remote control doesn’t work
The batteries are inserted with
their polarities the wrong way Check the polarity of the batteries
(check the indications inside the
battery compartment)
