3.4 Connection to a pressure sensor
Before connecting the pressure sensor with the CAN cable, the CAN
hardware must be initialised.
In order to establish the connection to the pressure sensor, its Node ID must be selected
and the "Connect" button pressed.
In order, at a later time, to use a pressure sensor with a different Node ID, this process
must be repeated after pressing the "Disconnect" button.
During the "Connect" process, check whether a pressure sensor is connected under the
given address. If this is the case, the software imports the basic instrument information,
which will then be displayed under "Instrument information".
Search for instruments
There is also the possibility, following the hardware initialisation, to search for connect-
ed instruments.
The function "Search for instruments" is found under the "File" menu or is selectable via
the respective button.
Via the "Start search" button, the bus is scanned for available pressure sensors. The
instruments found will be displayed in the table with their respective information.
Via "Connect", communication with the selected instrument will be established and
displayed in the "Instrument information" register. In order to be able to start a new
search, the current connection must be ended using the "Disconnect" button.
