L-BUS WIRING
The repeater panels connect to the L-Bus ring network for communication. Up to seven repeater panels can be
wired onto the L-Bus in series. It is recommended that the L-Bus wiring arrangement shown in Figure 28 be
followed.
Refer to the Specifications section of this manual for the detailed cable specifications.
The screen of the L-Bus loops through each repeater panel, and care must be taken to insulate the screens to
ensure they do not touch the housing or circuit board of a repeater panel.
It is recommended that the screen of the L-Bus be terminated to the supplied 6 mm red insulated spade
receptacle and then fitted to ORYX Fire Panel Earth points provided. The earth point will be provided on the
chassis plate of the ORYX fire panels with ABS enclosures. The earth point will be provided in the back-box for
the ORYX fire panels with standard enclosure or weatherproof enclosure
. It is the installer’s responsibility to
ensure a “clean” earthing/screening point.
For detailed information on the ORYX Repeater range wiring instructions and configuration, please refer to
PRMAN-0048 ORYX Repeater Installation and Operation Manual

USB CONNECTION FOR SOLAR
The USB B port on the panel is used to program the
panel and download the Event Log.
Connect a USB A-to-B cable (standard printer cable)
between your PC and the panel. Ensure that the
cable is no longer than 1.5m.
Use the SOLAR software, which can be downloaded
from the Technoswitch website, to program the
panel and retrieve the Event Log.
The ORYX Panel range has a 1,000 Event Log and
due to varying sizes of applications, it is
recommended that when the Event Log is used for commissioning or servicing purposes, the Event Log is
retrieved and saved after each zone is tested.
Each Control function, Input status, Output status and Power Supply status is logged.
The Event Log operates on a FIFO (first-in-first-out) cycle.
Refer to PRMAN-0049 for detailed information regarding the SOLAR Software and functions.
