7 Operation
7.1 Switching the television on and off
7.1.1 Switching on using the mains switch on the unit
> Switch the TV on by pressing the
mains switch

The TV then initialises. It cannot be operated as this happens. This process can take a
few seconds.
7.1.2 Switching on from standby mode
> Switch the TV on by pressing the
On/standby
key or the
PROG +/-
keys on the
remote control/TV or by pressing a number key from
0
to
9
on the remote control.
The green LED indicates the operating mode once it has been activated.
7.1.3 Switching off into standby mode
> Switch the unit off by pressing the
On/standby
key on the remote control or on
the television.
Please note , when you switch the unit off, a check to see if there is new operating software or
a new programme list is performed (only in DVB-S mode). This process takes a few seconds.
The LED lights up orange during the test and the LCD panel has already been shut off.
If you press the
On/standby
key again during the test, the unit switches back
on immediately.
After the test, the unit switches to standby mode and the LED lights up red. The unit is now
in standby mode and can be switched off completely using the mains switch.
If new operating software or a new programme list is found during the test (only in DVB-S mode),
it will be displayed the next time the unit is switched on. The new software or programme list
can be downloaded directly.
7.1.4 Switching off using the mains switch on the television
> Press the
mains switch
to switch the unit off completely.
Note that in this case, the software and EPG data cannot be updated automatically and
the timer cannot be set.
Note that you should use the mains switch to switch the unit off only from
standby mode.
The unit stores the last switching state (“On” or “Off”) that was entered using the remote
control or the buttons on the television.
If the unit is switched off using the mains switch while it is in operating mode, it switches
directly to operating mode when you press the mains switch again.
In the event of a power outage during regular operation, use the mains
switch to switch the unit off so it does not switch back on inadvertently
once the power is restored.
