Starting up the laser when the CCU is integrated in a Class 1 safety chamber
When the CCU is located in a secured area (Class 1), with an interlock connected to the safety door and a remote
safety key, employ the following special procedure:
• Open the safety door to access the CCU.
• Put the power button in 1 position.
• Press the "Safety circuit reset" button. The following message is displayed: "Starting in progress".
• CCU ready (Green light: lit)- The following message is displayed: "Turn key to start".
• Put the safety key in 1 position.
• Press the "shutter" button. The green "shutter" light starts to flash.
• Close the safety chamber door.
• Set the remote safety key outside the chamber to 1. Wait for approximately 20 seconds (the CCU’s preheating
time). The machine is ready for operation.
It is possible to activate the shutter before turning the key to 1 position, but the shutter will only activate if the
interlock is locked.
For a perfect stability of the laser source, preheating time is 10 min.
For the first 10 minutes of operation, a laser emission of less than 500 mW continuous
can be observed. During this period, it is recommended to let the laser warm up
without using it (key at position 1, shutter closed).
All protective measures against risks linked to laser emission (wearing laser safety
glasses, protection glass, etc.) must be used as soon as the key on the front panel of
the CCU is turned to position 1.
All protective measures against risks linked to fire from the interaction of the laser
with flammable materials must be used as soon as the key on the front panel of the
CCU is turned to position 1.
Respect these instructions even if no marking file is loaded in the CCU or even if the
control devices (PC, PLC, etc.) are not in operation.
