Important information
Target group
• Qualified craftsmen
• Specialist personnel trained by Techem
Intended use
• Water meters are used exclusively to measure
drinking water consumption. Depending on their
version, they are either suitable for cold water or
hot water. Alteration of the water meters is not
permitted.

If a sealed meter is damaged or removed by a
person not authorised by Techem, the calibra-
tion is no longer valid.

Transport is carried out using the original pack-
aging.
Safety and hazard information
Observe hygiene in the drinking water area:

Only remove the meter from its packaging direct-
ly before installation.
Ö
Contact and contamination with surfaces which
contact drinking water must be avoided at all
costs.
Ö
Only use lubricant permitted for drinking water,
e.g. Techem tap grease (item no. 160958)!
Avoid damages:
• Do not over-tighten measuring capsules.
• Check sealing surfaces and clean them as neces-
sary.
• Test the screw thread.
Avoid billing errors:
• Do not install water meters in circulation con-
duits.
• Observe the direction of flow!

• Dry and frost-protected

Prerequisites:
• Distance from power supply lines ≥ 300 mm.
• Shut-off devices for later meter swap
• Switch off devices connected on the supply net-
work in order to avoid damages from overpres-
sure or overtemperature.
Assembly of new meters

Rinse the pipelines thoroughly.

Close the shut-off device before the connector.

Take precautions to ensure no devices connect-
ed to the pipeline are damaged (e.g. disconnect
boilers, remove fuses).

Empty the conduits.

Only for assembly in in-wall connection housing
with the foamed mounting aid:

Shorten the mounting aid to the required
length.
6 Place the dismantling spanner with the hexagon
shank end on the temporary cover and unscrew
it.

Grease the connector's sealing surfaces and the
measuring capsule’s screw thread lightly with
tap grease.

Screw the measuring capsule into the connector
until the O-ring lies on the sealing surface.

Unscrew the measuring capsule
with the assembly spanner (art.
no.: 160 007) by

to a maxi-
mum of 1 /

of a turn hand-tight.
12 Open the shut-off device slowly
and bleed the conduit via the tap connection.
