6 Pairing drives
For multiple operation, correct pairing of all drives of an actuator
set is necessary.
Please note:
For a pairing of a maximum of 4 TCD1 drives no PEG2 is
necessary in principle.
The pairing can be carried out via a suitable power supply unit
with pole reversal.
7 Multiple drives
A maximum of 4 TCD1 can be paired.
Make sure that all drives are within a stroke range of 0-30mm.
A larger stroke prevents pairing.
Connect all drives according to the wiring diagram.
(See chapter "Connection diagram" and “Connection to jack")
Then energize the actuator set in OPEN direction.
The actuators move a few millimeters in the OPEN and
CLOSE direction and then stop.
Then energize the actuator set in the CLOSE direction.
The drives now execute the coupling.
Keep the drives energized until all drives of an actuator set
are completely closed.
Make sure that the chain does not jam!
The pairing is now complete.
8 Operation/Control
Danger
Danger of crushing
Danger of crushing and shearing points on the closing
edges of the window.
The drive can generate tractive and pressure forces in
excess of 400 N while it opens or closes the window
automatically.
These forces can crush limbs when reaching in between
the sash and the frame. Especially, as the drive
repeatedly tries to finish the stroke.
Keep children, persons with mental or physical
disabilities, and animals away from the window.
Do not reach between the sash and the frame when
the drive is running.
Be aware of the operation of any safety devices that
may be present.
Operation with a "dead man's switch
When operating with a "dead man's switch" (jog
button), the button must be pushed until the end of the
closing process.
When using a locking drive, energize the chain drive for
at least 10 seconds after the chain retracted in order to
ensure the locking of the fitting.
Tip
The drive performs a teach-in run during the first travel.
This determines the force values of the travel distance
and the highest possible speed. For this purpose, the
drive must travel once completely in the open direction
and once in the closed direction.
An interruption of the teach-in run leads to restricted
speeds
9 Maintenance and care
Carry out the following maintenance tasks every 1000 opening
cycles to ensure problem-free operation.
Check all screws for tightness and retighten if necessary. (Observe
any torque specifications in the assembly instructions).
Check the optimal fit of the window sash in the window frame. Adjust
the fastening set accordingly.
Check all parts for damage and wear.
Replace parts if necessary.
Never use alkaline or acid solutions to clean the windows.
10 Troubleshooting
A fitter or end user cannot actually repair a defective motor and
this is therefore impermissible. Repairs must be carried out at the
manufacturer’s premises. The warranty is void in the event that
you open or tamper with the motor.
Therefore, replace a defective drive/set and have it repaired at the
manufacturer's works.
If the drive stops, please check whether the load cut-off has been
activated.
If the actuator fails to respond to the operation of the controls, please
have the electrical supply checked by a qualified electrician.
