DVD characteristics
DVD discs are multi-purpose digital discs, on which high quality pictures and sound are recorded in digital signal mode using the
latest image compression technology (MPEG-2) and high density recording technology. A DVD disc is in a structure of two 0.6cm
thick discs bound together, to realize long time play with double sides. Each DVD disc (single face and single layer) can be
recorded with programs up to 135min.
DVD player has the following characteristics

Up to 32 subtitle languages. (A number of subtitle languages must have been recorded in the DVD disc.)
Up to 8 dubbing languages. (A number of subtitle languages must have been recorded in the DVD disc.)
Multi-angle function enables watching at up to 9 different angles. (A number of shooting angles must have been recorded in the
DVD disc.)
Compatible to a sampling rate from 44.1KHz to 96Kz, and digital encoding from 16 bits to 24 bits.
Built in Dolby decoder, with 5.1 audio channel output.

TIILE
A DVD disc can contain a number of titles. Usually a title contains the content of a program (such as music, a film, and an
announcement from a film maker.)
CHAPTER
A Title is divided into several parts, known as Chapters. Each chapter can be encoded, and their codes will enable quick search of
specific content of the recording.
SUB_TITLE
They are text shown at the bottom of the picture, and are the content of dialogues. A DVD disc can be recorded with subtitle in up
to 32 different languages.
Data flow
A DVD disc contains the following data flows: 1 picture data flow, up to 8 audio data flows, up to 32 subtitle flows and up to 9 angle
data flows.
Region code
Each DVD disc has a region code (1-6) or identified as ALL (all regions). DVD players also have the same region codes (1-6). A
DVD player can only play a disc with the same region code as it or marked as ALL.
