Table 5-1 Front Panel Controls and Indicators (L Model)
The front panel controls/indicators are described in detail in the following sections.
5.2
HV ON (Ref 1)
DO NOT DEPRESS THE HV ON PUSH-BUTTON UNLESS A
SUITABLE CAPACITIVE LOAD IS CONNECTED TO THE
POWER SUPPLY'S OUTPUT CABLE, AND THE LOAD IS
CORRECTLY GROUNDED
The HV ON push button turns ON the high voltage output when depressed only after all
interlocks are closed, self checks are completed and the unit is switched to the LOCAL
mode. HIGH VOLTAGE will be generated immediately when the HV ON is depressed
and the HV ON LED will illuminate and remain illuminated while the HV is ON. The sup-
ply will charge the load to the voltage determined by the HV LEVEL ADJUST 10 turn
pot. It is good practice to turn the LOCAL VOLTAGE CONTROL pot fully counterclock-
wise (to zero) before pushing the HV ON button when first using this power supply. Lat-
er on during system usage, the LOCAL VOLTAGE CONTROL may be left set at the de-
sired level.
If a fault is present when the HV ON push-button is depressed, the SUMMARY FAULT
LED will illuminate.
5.3
OUTPUT STATUS LEDs (Ref 2)
There are 6 output status LEDs on the front panel, indicating the state of the HV Output
circuit and some of the fault detection circuits in the control system.
