SS5-34 Differential Service and Repair

Raise the drive wheels and support the vehicle with jack stands.

Drain the oil from the drive.

Remove the belt drive assemblies.

Remove the rear wheels.

Slide the axles out from the drive housing.

Remove the third member mounting nuts and third member from

the housing.

Mark the carrier bearing flanges to insure that they can be installed in

the same orientation during reassembly.

Remove the carrier bearing flanges and the carrier assembly from

the housing.

Differential Assembly for the SS5-34

Always use a lifting strap, hoist and jack stands of adequate
capacity to lift and support the vehicle. Failure to use lifting and
supporting devices of rated load capacity to support the vehicle
may result in serious injury and property damage.
