TROUBLESHOOTING & ALARMS
Troubleshooting
1.
Unit will not power up or
power is lost unexpectedly.
Double check all power connections and battery is switched to the “ON”
position
2.
Unable to control unit
through manual interface
Device is in TCP/IP mode. Unplug all power connections, and switch the
battery to the “OFF” position, wait 30 seconds, then plug power back in,
switch battery to “ON position and press the power button.
3.
Yearly on board Battery
Testing
Unplug the power connection from the unit and check that the alarm
sounds for 10 seconds. Please contact Tate technical services if this is
not the case within the first five years of operation.

Note: All alarm conditions will cause SmartAire MZ to react by sounding an alarm, opening all zones fully
and re-enabling any disabled zones. Additionally, if configured, an alarm email will processed and sent.

Description
Resolution
Er01: Error 01
“Er01”
Error Flag 1 indicates a power failure
scenario,
check PoE supply and all connections
or Coaxial power connections
Er02: Error 02
“Er02”
Error Flag 2 indicates a high temperature
warning, or the measured temperature at
the sensor is 10°F or more above the set
point.
Perform a factory default reset, and
ensure temperature sensors are
within 10°F of default set point of
76°F.
Er04: Error 04
“Er04”
Error Flag 4 indicates a sensor is
functioning improperly or has become
disconnected.
Check that all connections are
secure, especially the primary
temperature tree connector. If
alarm persists, Perform a factory
default reset.
If any alarm is persistent and the above steps has no effect, please contact Tate Technical support for
