Important safety instructions
Please read through the following instructions carefully before using the device for
the first time and heed all the warnings, even if you are familiar with handling
electronic devices. Keep this manual in a safe place for future reference. If you sell or
pass on the device, always include these instructions with it.
Operating environment
The device has not been designed for use in rooms with high temperature or
humidity levels (e.g. bathrooms) or where excessive dust occurs. Operating
temperature and operating air humidity: 5°C to 45°C, max. 90% rel. humidity.
Make sure that:
• no direct heat sources (e.g. radiators) act on the device;
• the device is not exposed to direct sunlight or strong artificial light;
• contact with splashwater, water drops and aggressive liquids is avoided, and that
the device is not operated near water, particular care must be taken that the device
is never immersed in liquid (never put anything filled with liquid such as a vase or
drinks near the device);
• the device is not in the direct vicinity of magnetic fields (e.g. loudspeakers);
• no open flames (e.g. candles) are on or next to the device;
• no foreign particles penetrate the device;
• the device is not exposed to strong fluctuations in temperature;
• the device is not exposed to excessive jolting and vibrations;
Power supply
The device consumes current when in standby mode. To disconnect the device
completely from the mains, the device must be removed from the mains socket. For
this reason, the device should always be installed in such a way that there is direct
and unrestricted access to the mains socket so that the device can be disconnected
immediately in an emergency. To exclude any fire hazard, the device should always
be disconnected from the mains whenever the device is not to be used for a longer
period, such as during holidays, for example. Always disconnect the device from the
mains before storms and/or thunderstorms with potential lightning hazard.
Maintenance and care
Maintenance work is necessary if the device has become damaged, liquid or objects
have penetrate the inside of the housing, it has been exposed to rain or humidity, or if
it no longer works perfectly or has been dropped. If you notice smoke developing,
unusual noises or smells, disconnect the device from the power supply immediately.
In these cases the device must not be used again until it has been examined by an
expert. Only allow qualified staff to carry out repairs. Never open the device or
accessory housing. Always only clean the device with a clean dry cloth, never with
aggressive liquids.
Disconnect the device from the mains before cleaning.
Children
Keep electrical devices away from children. Never allow children to use electrical
devices unsupervised. Children cannot always correctly assess potential hazards.
