Hardware Installation Procedure

Coral IPx Office Installation Manual

Plug the pin-type connector of the IPx Office expansion cable into the pin-type 
receptacle on the front panel of the ESIM Office peripheral card.

4.

Plug the ribbon-type connector of the IPx Office expansion cable into the 
ribbon-type receptacle on the front panel of the ESIX card of the first 
expansion unit.

5.

Using a straight-blade screwdriver, tighten the screws on both sides of the 
cable connection to secure it to the card.

Connecting the First Expansion Cage to the Second Expansion Cage

1.

Verify that the ESIX Office card is installed in slot 6-7 of the second 
expansion unit.

2.

Plug the pin-type connector of the IPx Office expansion cable into the pin-type 
receptacle on the front panel of the ESIX Office card of the first expansion 
unit.

3.

Plug the ribbon-type connector of the IPx Office expansion cable into the 
ribbon-type receptacle on the front panel of the ESIX Office card of the 
second expansion unit.

4.

Using a straight-blade screwdriver, tighten the screws on both sides of the 
cable connection to secure it to secure it to the card.

Interconnecting the IPx Office Unit and IPx 500X/800X Cages

Use the cable including a female, 50-pin, SCSI pin-type connector on one end and a 
female, 50-pin D-type connector on the other end. See

Connecting the Main Unit to the First Expansion Cage

1.

Verify that the ESIM Office card is installed in slot 8-9 of the IPx Office unit.

2.

Plug the male end of the IPx Office expansion cable into the female SCSI 
connector on the front panel of the ESIM Office card.

3.

Plug the female, D-type connector of the cable into the connector labeled 
FROM CONTROL UNIT OR FIRST EXPANSION UNIT on the first 
expansion cage.

4.

Using a straight-blade screwdriver, tighten the screws on both sides of the 
cable connection to secure it to the card.
