to exceed 1 minute per pull. Exceeding 60 second pulls
will place a strain on your electrical system and the
winch. Taking
minute breaks between 60 second
pulls allows the battery to recharge itself, the winch to
cool and therefore provide the maximum pulling power.
Step Thirteen:
Things to Check during the Pull
Make sure the all of the following is happening during the
pulling process:

The winch line is pulling in tightly across the winch drum
and not to one side. This is extremely important as a “side
pull” can damage your winch or the cable can become
bound up and possibly break.
>
Avoid “Shock” or “Jerk” pulls during the winching
process. These hard hitting pulls can create undue stress on
the winch line and potentially cause it to break. “Slow and
steady” should be the mantra on all winching operations.
