NOTE:
The product is shipped with a lanyard for easy carrying. If you
don't need it, you can take it off.
Loosen the stem’s lock nut clockwise.
Extend the stem as the arrow. Then turn the stem’s lock nut
counterclockwise to lock it.
Hold the metal detector to make the search coil above the ground
for about 1-5cm (0.4-2inch) and parallel to the ground. Then rotate
the Stem’s lock nut counterclockwise to tighten it.The tightness of
the search coil can be adjusted by rotating the fixing knob. Do not
over-tighten stem’s lock nut and the fixing knob.
Installing the battery
Your metal detector is powered by two AA battery (included).

Functions and indicators
Open the battery cover in the direction of the arrow.
Buckle the battery after matching the polarity. Then place the
battery into the battery compartment.
Use only new battery of the required size;
If you don’t plan to use the unit for a week or more time, remove
the battery. The battery can leak chemicals that can destroy
electronic parts.
Change the battery if the low battery indicator on the LCD lights.

When battery power reaches a low condition the Low Battery icon will
illuminate
①
. When it first appears there is about an hour of battery
life remaining. When battery power is close to failing, the icon will flash
②
. At this point batteries should be replaced.
3.
If a large metal object or highly magnetic soil is too close to the search
coil, the detector will “overload”. The screen will blank and you will see
a blinking
“OVERLOAD RAISE COIL ”
message. The detector will
also alert you with a pulsing siren sound. Overload will not harm the
detector, but the detector will not function under these conditions. If
overload occurs, raise the search coil to detect the target from a
greater distance, or move to a different location.
4.
Coin-sized objects can be detected up to 4 inches(10cm)deep. The
detector displays target depth with a 3-segment graphic depth
indicator and it is calibrated to coin sized objects.

Objects other than coins will still register on the depth scale, but the
depth indication will be relative. For example, all 3 segments illuminat-
ed could indicate a coin at 4 or more inches deep, but could also be a
very large object much deeper.
5.
Press-and-hold the button to turn detector on or turn detector off.
6.
Press this button to switch on or switch off the backlight.
7.
When the detector is turned on,all three categories are enabled,
meaning it will detect all metal targets. By pressing DISC you can
eliminate target categories.

THREE-TONE AUDIO
The detector emits a low, medium or high tone, depending on the type
of metal detected.
Low Tone: ferrous metals that illuminate the left target-I.D.category.
Medium Tone: medium conductivity metals that illuminate the middle
target-I.D. category
High Tone: high conductivity metals that illuminate the right target-I.D.
category
PROPORTIONAL AUDIO
The speaker volume indicates target strength. The shallower the
target (i.e the closer to the search coil), the louder the tone. As you
move farther away from the target, the volume drops. For the deepest
targets on the fringe of detection, the speaker volume can be very
faint. The visual target-I.D. icons will illuminate regardless of the target
depth. The speaker volume, along with visual depth indicator, help you
determine a target’s depth before you dig.

Detecting All Types of Metals
Wave each object under the search coil. Wave coins flat, parallel to
the search coil. Notice the tone is loudest as the object passes
under the search coil center.
Notice the different audio tones for each object.
Pass each object at varying distances from the searchcoil.
The sound gets louder as the object moves closer to the search
coil.

from the search coil.
Beyond a certain distance, the object is no longer detected.

Eliminating Some Metals
Press DISC once. The black block below the left icon will disappear.
Wave the nail under the search coil and notice it is no longer
detected.
Press DISC again. The black block below the middle icon will
disappear.
Wave the nickel and gold ring under the search coil and notice that
they are no longer detected.
To turn the detector off, briefly press-and-hold .
The Basics of Metal Detecting
You may want to adjust your discrimination during your search,
depending on what you are finding. For instance, if you are searching
with all three target categories active, you will detect all types of metal
objects. If you find that you are in a trashy area with a lot of iron
objects, press the DISC button to eliminate the iron category. If you are
in a trashy area with a lot of pull tabs and bottle caps, press the DISC
button again to eliminate the middle target category.
Be aware that some desirable objects, like nickels and gold, fall into
the middle target category range and will be aliminated from detection
along with less valuable metals. Gold rings have a metallic signature
similar to pull-tabs; nickels have a metallic signature similar to some
newer pull tabs. It requires practice and patience to understand what
types of objects are eliminated at each setting.
2.
It’s difficult to have an accurate detecting result. Sometimes the
detecting may be restricted by some factors:
●
●
●
●
●
In area of highly mineralized ground or wet sand, the detector will
sound even if there is no metal. In this case, you can increase the DISC
object .Meantime enhance the distance between the search coil and
the ground.
Metallic digging tools will also affect the detection if they are near the
search coil .So it’s better place them a little far away.
3
.
Factors That Affect The Detecting
The angle of the target buried in the soil.
The depth of the target.
The level of oxidization of the target.
The Size of the target.
Electro-magnetic and electrical interference surrounding the target.
Do not use indoors. Detector is for outdoor use only.Household

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Your metal detector is an example of superior design and craftsman-
ship. The following suggestions will help you care for your metal
detector so you can enjoy it for years.
appliances emit electromagnetic fields, which can interfere with
your detector. If conducting an indoor demonstration, keep the
searchcoil away from appliances such as microwaves, computers
and televisions. If your detector beeps erratically, turn off applianc-
es and lights. Do not test by placing coins on the floor. Most floors
contain metal. Keep the searchcoil away from floors, walls, and
tables, which can contain metal.
The search coil is waterproof, but the control housing is not
waterproof.
