How to Perform a
Live Event Detec
tion Test
•
Power on the Power Prowler.
•
Connect the Dual Banana to BNC Female adapter and alligator clip set to the
Power Prowler, then connect the cable under test.
•
Use the right arrow button to scroll to the Live Event Detection icon then
press the enter button or press the Live Event Detection soft key
.
•
Select cable type or edit VOP (refer to Fault Location instructions).
•
Press the test button
to begin the test.
•
The Power Prowler will detect any changes to the cable (change in length,
open, or short condition). The Power Prowler will stop the test when a
change in the cable condition is detected. The graphic on the left side of the
screen will indicate if the change is an open or short condition.
•
To stop the test, press the cancel soft key
.
Note: See Power Prowler Settings for instructions on how to select if a
leader cable is or is not being used. The leader cable icon is displayed on
the top left of the screen when the leader cable is in use.

Press the test button
to perform a Fault location test. The graphic on
the left side of the screen will indicate if there is an open or a
short condition.
