Cleaning of the UV-C lamp and replacing the tube
Attention! The work described in this chapter may only be carried out by a
qualified specialist in order to prevent hazards.
In case of stronger accumulation of alga and calcification, the correct function of the
UV C unit should be checked. UVC tube (12) has a limited period of effectiveness
(approx. 8000 hours) and should be replaced at the latest after one season.
Appropriate replacement tubes are available at the service address specified
below.
If the pond filter has been switched off for a longer period of time, ensure that the
quartz glass cylinder that encloses the UVC tube is clean.
If the filter has not been operated for a longer period of time, under some
circumstances it may be necessary to replace the sealing rings (particularly for the
UVC emitter).
Cleaning of the UV-C lamp
1. Disconnect the UVC lamp from the mains power and safeguard it from being
switched on unintentionally
2. Comply with the safety measures.
3. Allow the water to completely run out of the unit.
4. Unscrew the bulb socket (13) according to the figures below, and replace the
UVC tubes (12) if necessary.
Cleaning of the quartz glass cylinder
1. After removing the bulb socket (13) and UVC tubes (12), the 4 phillips screws
must be loosened (Fig. I, white arrows), and the quartz glass carefully removed
from the housing.
2. Clean the quartz glass (9) and housing (6) thoroughly with water and a soft cloth.
3. If needed, remove calcifications from the quartz glass (9) with suitable solvents.
Rinse out thoroughly before reassembling.
4. If quartz glass tube or O-rings are defective they must always be replaced.
Assemble everything in reverse order.
