Trouble-shooting
Many problems have a simple cause and a
correspondingly simple solution. The following section
describes a few difficulties you may encounter, and the
measures you need to take to cure them.
If you find it impossible to solve a problem with the help
of these notes please disconnect the unit from the mains
and ask your authorised
specialist dealer for
advice.
Problem:
Machine does not switch on (On LED
does not light up).
Cause:
Mains lead not plugged in correctly.
Remedy:
Check connections, push plugs in firmly.
Problem:
The unit responds correctly when the
buttons are pressed, but cannot be
remote-controlled.
Cause 1:
Batteries in the remote control unit
inserted incorrectly or discharged.
Remedy:
Replace batteries, ensure they are
inserted correctly.
Cause 2:
Infra red sensor connected incorrectly, or
plug not pushed into the unit's
RC
socket
fully.
Remedy:
Complete the connections as shown in
the wiring diagram; push the plug in firmly.
Cause 3:
The CD player's
RC IN
socket is not
connected to the amplifier's
RC OUT CD
socket.
Remedy:

correctly. Push all plugs in firmly.
Cause 4:
The remote control transmitter has no
direct line-of-sight with the
'R'
series pre-
amplifier or integrated amplifier.
Remedy:
Make sure that the remote control
transmitter has direct line-of-sight contact
with the receiver - note that glass doors
can interrupt the connection.
Maximum range between transmitter and
receiver: approx. 8 metres.
Be sure to position the receiver where it is
not subjected to direct sunlight or very
bright artificial light. Fluorescent tubes and
energy-saving lamps are powerful sources
of interference.
Cause 5:
The amplifier is not set for
CD
operation,
i. e. the commands from the remote
control unit are being routed to a different
PULSAR unit.
Remedy:
Press the
button on the remote
control handset and try again.

(TOC) area.
Remedy:

(e. g. in transit) and condensation has
formed on the laser sensor optics.
Remedy:
Allow the unit to warm up for about an
hour in a warm, well ventilated location.
Problem:
Blank screen.
Cause:
The screen is switched off.
Remedy:
Switch the screen on again by pressing
the

thoroughly.

system the
machine does not respond to remote
control commands, or cannot be
