Setup menu (DVD player configuration)
If your system does not include a TV / monitor, then you do not need to carry out
any changes in the DVD player setup menu.
DVD player setup menu
The DVD player in the
K2
has to be set up to match the characteristics of your
TV set and your own preferred methods of operation. The necessary settings
are grouped together in a ‘DVD player setup menu’ which is displayed on the
screen connected to the system. In most cases the settings grouped together
in the player setup menu only need to be adjusted once, i.e. when the machine
is first installed. You will need the operating instructions supplied with your
television to help you find the correct values.
The player setup menu is divided into the following sub-menus:
•
GENERAL SETUP PAGE
In this sub-menu you can select all the general device settings such as
screen language etc.
•
AUDIO SETUP PAGE
This sub-menu is used to set the audio characteristics of Night mode.
•
VIDEO SETUP PAGE
At this point you enter the picture settings, such as the screen format (normal
4 : 3 / wide-screen 16 : 9) etc.
•
PREFERENCE PAGE
Here you can enter your personal preferences such as the soundtrack
language, child security settings etc.
The sub-menu “Preference page’ can only be called up when no disc is playing
(disc stopped).
The menu summary on the following page provides an overview of the player
setup menu. The set-up facilities provided by the individual menus are
explained in detail in the subsequent sections.
Operating the SETUP menu
Ensure that the disc player is selected as the listening source, that your TV set
is switched on, and that the picture input (AV input) for the
K2
is selected.
The player setup menu is opened with a long press on the
button:
please hold the button pressed in until the player setup menu appears on your
screen. While this menu is open, the
K2
’s integral screen displays the
message ‘
DISC SETUP’
.
You can now navigate around this menu using the
cursor buttons
, and enter
your preferred settings. Once you have selected an entry, press the
button to confirm this; the setting is then accepted and stored.
When you first open the menu you will find yourself at the top line of the screen
menu. Start by selecting the desired sub-menu (General setup page / Audio
setup page / Video setup page / Preference page) using the
/
buttons.
Pressing the
-button opens the sub-menu of your choice. You can now
move to any individual menu point using the
/
buttons.
If you wish to change the value of a menu point, press the
button and
select the desired setting using the
/
buttons. Confirm your
choice by pressing the
button; this confirms your selection and accepts
the setting.
The
button takes you back to the next higher menu level.
Ending the SETUP menu
When you wish to leave the SETUP menu, press the
button, repeatedly
if necessary, until you are returned to the top menu line again. Here you should
select the point ‘End SETUP menu’, and confirm your choice by pressing the
