INSTALLATION
All Systembase C500 series codecs are designed to
fit a standard 19” rack. Each unit measures
44.45mm high (1U). Notes for installing:-
1/ Do not obstruct any air vents that the product may
have.
2/ Do not mount the unit directly above or below
other equipment within the rack. It is recommended
to leave a space of 1U between units.
3/ Where possible connect the M4 earth bonding
point to the rack enclosure frame.
CONNECTIONS
1/ Audio connections are located at the rear of the
unit and presented on electronically balanced XLR
connectors. The headroom can be configured
b12dBu and +18dBu.
2/ AES3 is supported on balanced, transformer
isolated, XLR connectors.
3/ ISDN: The C510ip-s supports ISDN on the slot
labelled “ISDN 1/2”.
4/ The C510ip-s supports AoIP streaming on the slot
labelled “ISDN3/4 IP”. This Ethernet interface is
electrically isolated from the Ethernet interface used
by the manager port. Both ports are hosted by
different processors maximising security between
the often public AoIP function and the management
function.
5/ The X.21 port is supported on a female 15 D-type
connector and is presented as a DTE. To connect to
a DCE you will require a straight cable.
6/ The Aux data port supports inband AUX data
transmission at speeds from 2400bps to 9600bps.
Also supported here is a optically isolated trigger
that will force the dialling of the ISDN. In addition
there is a set of alarm relay contacts the can be
programmed to reflect the alarm state if the codec.
7/ The Manger port is used for connecting to a host
computer network for the purposes of codec
management. The WEB GUI is based on XML data
and lightweight JS. This means that it will function
on Chrome, Mozilla, IE8+ MAC OS and mobile
phones without requiring installable code.
If required a network management tool called
“EasyMon” can be downloaded from the
Systembase website which enables monitoring of
multiple codecs in a single web browser window.
8/ The final two 9way DSUB connectors are used for
serial management at 9600bps. These connectors
also support two sets of end to end relay contact
closures that can be used instead of the AUX data
function.
