4.17 Coil Maintenance
Heating Coil (located on top of the Indoor coil)
1.
Using a coil brush remove/dislodge excess foreign matter.
2.
Vacuum loosened foreign matter.
3.
Using compressed air, clean coil in reverse direction of air flow and/or using an
environmentally safe cleaner, spray top side of coil and allow to soak for several
minutes.
4.
If required, wipe up drips and excess spray (allow to dry if required).
5. Re-assemble unit and test.
Indoor Coil
Gain access to back side of coil through the rear air path opening.
1.
Using a coil brush remove/dislodge excess foreign matter.
2.
Vacuum loosened foreign matter.
3.
Using compressed air, clean coil in reverse direction of air flow (both coils if
applicable) and/or using an environmentally safe cleaner, spray top side of coil
and allow to soak for several minutes.
4.
If required, wipe up drips and excess spray (allow to dry if required).
5. Re-assemble unit and test.
Outdoor Coil
Gain access to inside portion of condenser coil. (Remove the compressor door)
1.
Using a coil brush remove/dislodge excess foreign matter.
2.
Vacuum loosened foreign matter.
Note:
To gain access to outside portion of the Outside Coil, remove the condenser fan
assemblies. (Refer to Pg. 13)
3.
Using compressed air, clean coil in reverse direction of air flow and/or using an
environmentally safe cleaner, spray top side of coil and allow to soak for several
minutes.
4.
If required, wipe up drips and excess spray (allow to dry if required).
5. Re-assemble unit and test.
Coil fins are delicate and
can be damaged easily.
Clean with care.
