When the pressure loss in the water softening system

exceeds 1 bar due to a considerable amount of water

drawn off (for instance caused by a flushing valve),

an overflow valve integrated in the control unit opens,

a bypass is opened, which reduces the pressure loss

and a small amount of water is not treated during

that short moment. As a result, the hardness of the

blended water is somewhat higher for a short while.
