Press the power button on the front panel to power on the Synology NAS server. The Expansion Unit ID of
RX1217sas connected to the Synology NAS server will be displayed in sequence on the back panel.
Note:
1. Even with the Synology NAS server and expansion unit(s) powered on, you can still connect them with one
or more RX1217sas if needed. To do so, repeat step 1 and 2 above to connect the expansion cables and
power cords of the other expansion units. Your expansion units will automatically power on if they are correctly
connected, and the Expansion Unit ID will be displayed accordingly after a few seconds (if DSM is installed in the
Synology NAS server).
2. The actual number of expansion units that can be connected depends on the performance limitations and
specifications of the Synology NAS server.
