20 Chapter 2: Hardware Setup
Start up Your Synology NAS
To start up your SA3200D:
1 Connect one end of each power cord to the power ports located on the back of the SA3200D and the other end
to a power outlet.

Connect at least one LAN cable to one of the LAN ports and the other end to your switch, router, or hub.
3 Press the power button to turn on the SA3200D.
Note:
1. To turn on both controllers, press the power button.

To turn off both controllers, press and hold the power button until you hear a beep sound and the Power
LED indicator starts blinking.
3. If one controller is powered on and the other is powered off, press the power button and the controller that
is powered off will be booting up while the other will not be affected.
4. If either of the controllers is powered on, press the power button and hold for about 10 seconds and the
system will be forced to shut down.
Congratulations! Your Synology NAS is now online and detectable from a network computer.
