Introduction
This guide describes how to set up and use an MSR 8000
Magnetic Stripe Reader with Symbol PDT 8000 Series terminals.
The magnetic stripe reader:
•
provides power for operating the terminal
•
allows you to use the terminal to capture data from magnetic
stripe cards
•
provides serial connection through the serial pass-through
port
•
re-charges the terminal’s battery, when used with the
appropriate power supply.
The magnetic stripe reader snaps easily on to the bottom of the
terminal and can be removed easily when not in use.
