MO’ BASS • FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Why does the Bassynth Resonance control affect the volume so much?
A: Because when you increase the Resonance control, you're actually narrowing the band of frequencies that are allowed to
pass through the Filter. When you take away frequencies from your signal, it is no longer "full range" - and there is a
perception of volume loss from those missing frequencies. You'll notice that when the Resonance is at minimum, the
Bassynth level may actually be louder than when the effect is disengaged. This is normal.
Q: Will the "Mo' Control" footswitch be able to memorize settings on the Mo' Bass?
A: It will memorize groups of effects, but not actual settings because the Mo' Bass is not a digital device - it's analog. When
a preset group of effects engages, the settings for each control will be wherever the knobs are set at the time.
Q: So how can I store preset levels?
A: By using the MIDI Out function, you can send Presets 1-4 and a bypass to work with the first five presets on your MIDI
device, and then you can program the levels on your MIDI device.
Q: When I run in Dual Mode I seem to lose a little overall level. Why?
A: The effects you're using may be boosting the overall signal level (which you can test by hitting the Internal Effects Bypass
switch). If so, when you engage Dual Mode, you're taking one channel of the unit and dropping its signal back down to the
unaffected level. If you can achieve balance between your clean and wet sounds before using Dual Mode, you should hear
no difference when running in Dual Mode.
Q: When I put the Bassynth Mix control all the way to "Synth", why does the Preamp EQ become inoperable?
A: Because the Bassynth takes its input signal directly from the first input stage of the Mo' Bass, and you've completely
mixed out the original bass signal with the Bassynth Mix control. To achieve additional EQ, either mix some of the original
bass signal back in with the Bassynth Mix control, or use the Mo' EQ.
