Registering and deregistering handsets
11.4.1 Registering more DC402 handsets

Initiate the registration facility by pressing the Paging
button on the base station
After pressing the Paging button, the handset registration process must be completed
within the following 90 seconds:
Open the REGISTER menu
Select the REG BASE function and confirm
Enter the number of the base station (1 to 4) and confirm
the input
If the handset is already connected to a base station, the corresponding number flas-
hes.
A search is then made for the base station.
When the base station is found, proceed as follows:
Enter the PIN (default setting: 0000) and confirm the input
The handset is then registered.
The handset is assigned an internal call number. The handset already registered has
the internal call number 1. The second handset registered is assigned the internal call
number 2. The internal call number appears in the right of the display when in Standby
mode.
11.4.2 Registering DECT−GAP handsets from other manufacturers
In order to register a DECT−GAP handset from another manufacturer, follow the instructions in the
operating manual provided by the original manufacturer and then press the Paging button
on your base station for 3 seconds. Use the PIN to register (default setting: 0000).
11.4.3 Deregistering handsets
A handset can only be deregistered by another handset still registered. It is not possible to com-
plete the deregistration using the handset which is to be deregistered.
Open the SETUP menu.
Select the DEL HANDSET menu and confirm.
Enter the PIN (default setting: 0000) and confirm the input
Press the
button to cancel the process.
Enter the internal call number of the handset to be
deregistered and confirm the input.
11.5
Additional base stations
The range of the handset can be increased by using several base stations. To implement the func-
tion, all the base stations must be connected to a telephone line connection. Depending on the
intended use, each base station can be assigned the same telephone number or each can be as-
signed a different call number. Pay attention that all the base stations overlap with regard to their
range.
The handset must be registered on each base station.
Please test the range of the handset before starting up a new base station. If a handset is registe-
red on the base station and the automatic base station dialling function has been activated on the
handset (refer to Section 7.5), the handset is always automatically transferred to the next base
station.
11.5.1 Selecting a base station
Open the REGISTER menu
Select the SELECT BASE function and confirm
All the base stations to which the handset is already registered appear in the display.
The number of the base station currently active flashes.
