Practical information:
•
The sun heater needs sun to work! If the sun is not shining all the time you could decide to keep the water
running through the sun heater, because the internal water resistance is low. During longer periods without
sunshine you can disconnect the sun heater from your pool system or, alternatively, surpass the sun heater.
Additional hoses for this purpose are not included.
•
You can use your existing pool pump, both cartridge filter and sand filter systems up to 7m3/h.
The sun heater works with both hose sizes 32 mm and 38 mm. A special adapter for use with bigger Intex
hoses is included too. If you want to place the sun heater on the roof please make sure that the pump used is
powerful enough to pump the water up to the desired level. Normally a pool pump with an effect of 0,75 HP
can handle this smoothly.
•
Always place the sun heater facing south and make sure that no plants or other obstacles block the
availability of sunshine all day as the sun moves its position from morning to evening.
•
A cover is included which can be used to cover the sun heater in extremely hot periods during which no
additional heating of the water is desired. It can also be used as a protective cover during the winter storage.
The use of a single sun heater.
•
For use with garden pools containing up to 5000 liters of water it is recommended to use a least 1 pcs sun
heater. Over a period of time the water temperature can be raised up to 3-‐5 degrees based on 10 hours of
continual sunshine during the day. To achieve the optimal increase of water temperature it is highly
recommended to use an isolating thermal cover on the pool surface at the night. Otherwise most of the
accumulated heat is released from the surface during the night because of the colder night temperatures.
•
The only tool needed is a screwdriver to connect the hoses on to the sun heater. When using a single sun
heater the included longer connecting hose of 1,2m is used.
•
If you use more sun heaters in connection you will generate more heat to the water. When connecting more
sun heaters please use the short hose which is included as well. We recommend that no more than four pcs
sun heaters are serial connected. If you want more sun heaters working together than this we recommend to
use several parallel connections.
•
Find the optimal place to use the sun heater.
•
Turn off the pool pump. Block the inlet/outlet valves of the pool so that water does not run out of the pool
when the hoses are removed. If you use a sand filter system please put it in closed position.
•
Raise the supporting legs of the sun heater.
•
Connect the hoses between the involved units -‐ pool -‐ filter – sun heater – pool.
•
Remove possible dust or dirt from the transparent bowl.
•
Remove the blocking of the pool valves. If you use a sand filter system put it back in the filtering position and
start the pool pump.
•
Look for possible leakage at the connections.
•
Now you get free concentrated heat from the sun in your pool!
