Preliminary note of caution!
Never use excessive torque to lock the screws or the fittings. Excessive torque will result
in damage to your product, and is not covered by our warranty.
The rule of thumb is to NOT exceed 1/8 of a turn past mating
point of the parts.
NEVER DISASSEMBLE THE PUMP FROM THE RESERVOIR WITHOUT SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN
BY THE SWIFTECH SUPPORT TEAM
1.
Locate the area where the pump will be installed. Drill 4 holes (Ø
4.5mm or 3/16”) in a 26 x 105mm hole pattern as shown
above.
2.
You can orient the retention brackets either vertically or horizontally as shown above, depending on your installation.
3.
Install the retention brackets to the reservoir using the provided (8) M4x6 socket head cap screws.
4.
Install (2)
G ¼” fittings (not included). Pay particular attention to the location of the Inlet and Outlet ports so that the coolant
will circulate as intended in your loop. For your tube routing convenience, there are two possible inlet ports for the coolant:
immediately next to the outlet port on the face of the pump plenum, or on the reservoir top cover.
5.
Fasten the pump to the case using the supplied (4) M4x8 socket head cap screws, with M4 nuts and washers.
6.
Fill-up the reservoir with coolant using one of the G1/4 fill-ports of the reservoir top cover.
7.
Connect the pump Molex power connector to your computer power supply, and connect the mini 4-pin PWM/RPM signal
connector to the motherboard CPU_Fan header. This will allow you to adjust the pump speed using the motherboard software
similarly to any cpu cooler. Please note that If the mini 4-pin is not connected, then the pump will always run at full speed.
Operating precautions:
The pump should never be run dry, even for a quick test
. You should always prime the pump with fluid
before you start operating it (see warranty note *).
Use of coloring die or fluorescent additives
containing particulate fillers will
cause excessive wear to the pump’s impeller bearing (see warranty note **).
8.
To control the lighting of your maelstrom reservoir, connect the mini 3-pin ALED female connector to a male ALED connector
on Swiftech’s IRIS ALED light controller (not provided and sold separately) - See electrical diagram to the back of this page.
