Technical data

General

The Swegon CASA R85 is an ideal ventilation unit for homes
and similar premises. The unit has a RECOnomic rotary heat
exchanger for high heat recovery performance.
The ventilation unit is designed to be mounted on a wall by
means of the wall mounting bracket supplied with the unit.
The ventilation unit’s dimensions enable you install it like a wall
cabinet directly above the cooker and the cooker hood. It is
also possible to mount the unit against the ceiling with a ceiling
mounting frame, available as optional equipment.

Fans

The fans have low-energy, economical, type EC direct-current
motors, whose power consumption is almost half as high as
that of traditional fans driven by AC motors. The advantage
of EC fans is that their speed is variably controllable and their
efficiency is high even when they operate in the lower speed
range. The power supply and control cables have quick-fit con-
nectors and the fans can be easily removed from the unit,
if required.

Filters

The ventilation unit has class F7 fine filters for the supply air and
the extract air.

Heat exchanger

The ventilation unit has Swegon's patented RECOnomic rotary
heat exchanger. The heat exchanger consists of a rotating wheel
or rotor. The aluminium foil structure of the rotor forms a multi-
tude of small passages through which the air flows. As the rotor
rotates, heat is stored in the passages on the warm extract air
side, and is emitted to the cold air on the supply air side. Even
though the same surfaces are in contact with both the extract
air and the supply air, there is very little risk that odour transfer
will occur.
The temperature efficiency is approx. 80 %. Since a rotary heat
exchanger normally never freezes; it maintains its high tempera-
ture efficiency regardless of the outside temperature. The heat
exchanger is driven by a motor of its own.
